Dear Parents,
In an effort to keep you informed we are notifying you of an incident in which a sixth grade student made comments of a threatening nature against the school.
Administrators were notified of the incident and immediately contacted Columbia County School District Police. Upon further investigation, the student has been criminally charged and is also being held accountable according to the Code of Conduct.
Safety of students and staff is a top priority and we take threats of any nature seriously and will investigate fully. Parents, please speak with your children about the dangers of making threatening comments, even in a joking manner, and the serious consequences that will follow.
Suspicious behavior should always be quickly reported to a school administrator, Columbia County School District Police, or by contacting the CCSD anonymous tip hotline at 706-541-3600. If you see something, say something. Working together, we can continue to provide a positive environment for students and staff.
